About the Instructor

Dr. Jason Roop is the founder of the Center for Trait-Based Transformation and the architect of the Trait-Based Model of Recovery. His own journey through addiction and long-term recovery fuels his passion for helping others discover their inner strengths and reclaim their lives.
Dr. Roop holds a Ph.D. in Business Management and Leadership and a Master of Theology. His published research demonstrates how trait-based approaches reduce anxiety and depression while improving resilience, engagement, and long-term recovery outcomes. He is a national speaker, author, and trainer who has worked with treatment centers, schools, and justice systems across multiple states to implement Trait-Based programming.
With a unique blend of personal authenticity and academic credibility, Dr. Roop brings both compassion and clarity to his teaching. His mission is simple: to empower leaders, facilitators, and community members to Start from Strength — building safe, strengths-based environments where transformation can take root and thrive.
