Dr. Brad Hall has accepted an invitation to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors of Start From Strength Foundation, joining a five-member board that will guide the Foundation’s charitable work and help expand access to programs grounded in the Trait-Based Model.

Dr. Brad Hall

Hall brings extensive experience across healthcare, higher education, workforce development, and community leadership. He currently serves as Chief Medical and Strategic Partnerships Officer at Eastern Kentucky University.

His previous roles include Vice President for Education and Workforce at Addiction Recovery Care, Vice President for External Affairs and Presidential Advisor at the University of the Cumberlands, and Executive Director and CEO of the Kentucky Pharmacists Association. His experience also includes hospital board leadership. He holds a doctorate in educational leadership and an MBA from the University of the Cumberlands.

As board chair, Hall will work with fellow directors to guide the Foundation’s direction, develop partnerships, and oversee its charitable work as it develops. He has already begun sharing the Foundation’s mission with others and helping introduce its work to a wider audience.

Expanding access to the Trait-Based Model

Created by Dr. Jason Roop and Amanda Roop, Start From Strength Foundation aims to help people access Trait-Based programs when cost, distance, or limited local resources make that difficult.

The Foundation’s priorities include access to education and community programs, preparation for local facilitators, and research that helps evaluate and improve the work. Hall’s experience across education, healthcare, and workforce development will help inform the partnerships and decisions needed to advance those priorities.

Introducing the full board

Hall joins Dr. Jason Roop, Amanda Roop, Lisa Hart, and Betsy Colwell on the Foundation’s five-member board. Together, they bring perspectives from organizational leadership, education, the development of the Trait-Based Model, and firsthand experience with the Trait-Based approach.

Dr. Jason Roop

Dr. Jason Roop serves as Founder and President of the Foundation. A behavioral scientist and developer of the Trait-Based Model, he brings the research and practice behind the approach to the Foundation’s work.

Amanda Roop

Amanda Roop helped create the Foundation alongside Jason and has contributed to shaping its mission and direction.

Lisa Hart

Lisa Hart brings 20 years of experience working in the school system. Her perspective will inform the Foundation’s efforts to understand the needs of educators and families and help more young people participate.

Betsy Colwell

Betsy Colwell is a Trait-Based graduate. Her firsthand experience helps inform board discussions about access and the participant experience.

Preparing for the work ahead

The Foundation is building the relationships and resources needed for its first charitable projects. Hall and his fellow board members will help guide that work, with attention to community needs, thoughtful partnerships, and responsible use of resources.
